You MUST be joking. Is there an award for furthering regional stereotypes? For a moment, I thought this pastor was going to play the "Of course they are, because we are all brothers under God!" kind of angle. But no, he's just being as vile, racist, religiously bigoted, and intentionally ignorant as possible, using his church sign as the medium. Which seems to suit his flock just fine.
I'm used to the attacks, but it's the "who me? I didn't do anything or mean to offend anyone" defense that makes me boil.
Not to say nobody else is that prejudiced, especially in other parts of the country that occasionally like to pretend racism is nicely fenced in below the Mason-Dixon. But it does seem like my native region churns out some superstars at doing it while sounding exceptionally stupid and making religion look extraordinarily bad.
As a third-party observer, I'd recommend that Jesus should look into getting better local representation.

After reading that story, I wonder: Is Pastor Roger Byrd of Jonesville, SC,
really Christian? I don't know. See, I'm asking a question: Is he a
terrorist? In other words, is he Muslim? Is he a murderer? Is he a
pedophile? I don't know. He says he's not. I hope he's not. But I don't
know. And it's just something to try to enflame the ignorant and drop
things to the lowest common denominator. It was never intended to hurt
feelings or to offend anybody.
